After his enrollment (No. 0-56-1977) as an Advocate, he started his practice at Cuttack being associated with Mr.S.C.Mohapatra, the then one of the leading Lawyers of Orissa. On the elevation of his Senior Mr.S.C. Mohapatra to the bench of Orissa High Court in 1984 (Later, His Lordship is the LOKPAL of Orissa) he started his independent practice and came to prominence within no time. He had buzy practice in service, constitution and property laws of the Orissa State Ware Housing Corporation, the Orissa Forest Development Corporation, Orissa Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, ESI Corporation of India and Orissa Public Service Commission, Orissa Secondary School Teacher's Association, Utkal University, Orissa Board of Secondary Education, Different Municipalities in Orissa and the like Institutions. He was also the Additional/Standing Counsel and Public Prosecutor in the Orissa High Court from April, 1984 to May, 1990. He was also Additional Govt.
